Poor performance and errors in the order picking, checking, dispatch and transportation processes.

Reason

Picking a single order at a time following simulated warehouse paths for each pick. Time-consuming transportation preparation. Time-consuming NF approval by Sefaz (conference/check out operation waits for the NF to be printed).

Capacity

The client wanted to speed up the process by grouping orders with the same characteristics, taking advantage of the operator's movement through the DC to pick several orders in parallel (reducing wasted time). They also wanted to send the NF to SEFAZ for approval when the picking process was completed, and only print it out some time later during the checking process.

Solution

Improvement of a Cockpit for monitoring the status of orders to be picked, making it possible to create groups of orders with similar characteristics. Implementation of the Queue concept for the picking transaction on data collectors (operators registered for the types of orders that are enabled and receive the next one in the queue directly on the equipment). Sending the NF for approval at the end of picking, allowing the NF to be quickly printed at the checkpoint.

Results

Significant improvements in performance, a more intuitive process for picking operators, additional consistency in product readings and the provision of more information, reducing delivery errors, a significant reduction in the waiting time for printing the NF (from 60 seconds to 5 seconds), among others.
